Original Site Performance
Optimized Site Performance
(Learn What These Metrics Mean Without Leaving This Page.)
How To Read Website Performance Metrics:
These letter grades and percentages are representative of your website’s performance across 46 categories. The average website score for sites in 2018 is 70% for both PageSpeed & YSlow.
The duration in seconds that is required for the website to be displayed in full to site visitors.
This is how much your website weighs. It is measured in megabytes. 1MB is equal to 1,000 kilobytes. Think of websites weighing less than 1MB as ‘conditioned athletes and peak performance trained fighters’. It is the weight-class you want your website to be when it enters the ring.
These are HTTP Requests. Think of HTTP Requests as a waiter’s required number of round trips to and from the kitchen in order to deliver a customer’s full meal (complete website) to their table. The more requests necessary (i.e. more trips to the kitchen) the longer it takes for the meal to arrive to the customer’s table. More trips to the kitchen makes for a a slower website.
These arrows indicate a website’s performance position in relation to other websites analyzed within the last 30 days. A green arrow indicates that a website is performing better than the average website while a red arrow indicates that a website is performing worse than the average website. An orange diamond indicates that a website performs within a +/- 5% window of the average website. You want to see 100% green arrows across all measurements.
This happens because of people’s growing impatience with slow loading page speeds. If a page takes too long to load they will tap the back button.
Of the 85% audience that remains only 2% will ever truly make a purchase of any kind. Wouldn’t you prefer to generate sales from 2% of 100 rather than 2% of 85?
Faster pages that load in less than 2 seconds will keep 100% of their audience. Everyone sees your message and you are given a full and unimpeded opportunity to generate sales from all of them.
Consider that in the same 3 seconds that it takes to load just the initial page of the original design, users of the new design are already exploring more of the site, finding more of the information they want, and even booking appointments.
If you’ll notice, I’ve loaded the original content of the old site into my new code, thrown in my own sales pitch, even tossed in an analytical comparison summary for good measure and still delivered everything in less time and with fewer resources than 93% of existing web pages.
